We believe that the God of the Bible created all that exists.
The human race has sinned against God, and does not have the
power to redeem itself. The result is separation from God
who is the source of life and of everything good. God sent
his Son, Jesus Christ, to do for us what we could not do.
Jesus' death paid the price for our sin, and his resurrection
secured eternal life for us. Now the Holy Spirit works faith
in believers, and calls them together into Christ's church
on earth. Baptism is the means by which the Spirit comes to
us.
Our faith concerns a relationship with God which transforms
our lives and takes us into eternity. Jesus Christ is the
indispensible part of all this. As he said, "I am the way,
the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by
me (John 14:6)."
We believe the Scriptures are the only source of authority
for believers. We also accept the Apostles Creed, and two
other creeds, as valid summaries of the Christian faith. We
accept statements from the 16th Century called the Lutheran
Confessions as valid summaries of scriptural teachings.
